Bonne to do it.

Matthieu Bonne is a professional record breaker. From swimming to cycling to running, he’s made endurance his superpower – he even has the record for the most basketball free-throws in 24 hours. When he’s targeting a running record, like the 48-hour record he broke in 2025, Matthieu retreats to Kenya, where the altitude and simple life make for productive training. Known for his incredible mileage, Matthieu’s schedule often calls for back-to-back days of 100 km – precisely the kind of extreme training where the C1 excels.

Featured

The super trainer, energized.

The C1 features a dual layer midsole, utilizing a generous layer of our sustainable CircleCELL foam above a rubberized EVA bottom layer that provides the stability you need to go beyond. CircleCELL is the same supercritical foam used in our award-winning H1, delivering energy return on par with PEBA-based foams, while providing double PEBA’s running lifespan.

Stability, elevation, enlightenment.

Despite its wide, stable stance and dual-layer midsole, the C1 comes in at a feathery 9.4 oz / 267 g (US M9), because long distance performance shouldn’t weigh you down. Featuring a 42 mm stack height and 6 mm drop, the C1 is optimized to let you push your limits of speed and distance in training, so that race day comes easy.

Tune in, don’t drop out.

The TUNEDFIT Dual Lacing System offers separately customizable fit for the forefoot and midfoot. Because we know that in the ultrarunner’s pursuit of distance, feet can swell and change shape, and having a shoe that can adapt to those changes on the fly can be the difference between minor discomfort and injury. With TUNEDFIT you can enjoy the ride and channel your focus to the miles ahead.

C1's great for walking with weighted vest!

Very Happy with my purchase; so much so I wrote a review which I rarely do and only for great products. Full Transparency I took a look at the C1's in Pulse because I thought they looked nice in an ad; came to the M2C website (I had not heard of them until that ad) and read all about their shoes and who they were as a company and was sold.

50/M former lifter, recovering from injury where I gained a lot of weight. So now I am on a weight loss journey, and I would dare say setting my health in order; so maintaining my physical health is beyond important to me.
I bought the C1's (in Pulse) for walking through a local mountainous park (paved walking paths) while wearing a 20lb vest. Previously was wearing Hoka's an I would feel fatigue in my arches and around my ankles whiles walking, the C1's provided immediate relief! No more mid walk fatigue!!

Amazing shoes, I love how they fit true to size and how comfortable they are. I have a high top of foot and the dual lace system brilliantly allows for the C1's to be locked down on my feet without being painful or cutting off blood flow. Will definitely be buying other models for trail activities as well.

Perfect out of the box

Excellent for long runs. I have the R1 and H1 so happy to add these to my shoe rotation. Definitely more cushion and stability than the R1. I’m a huge fan of MtC. I’ll keep buying them as long as you keep making them!

Love these shoes

Love these shoes. I have the T1s, H1s and recently got the C1s. Mount to coast is the real deal. I’ve put all of these shoes through heavy training and a few 100+ mile ultra marathons this year and they just keep going.

C1 has an issue

The C1 is great, except for one major issue.
It does holds moisture unlike any of the others. The R1, H1, & S1 are all super shoes without this issue.
But, in extreme heat and starting at 15-20 miles, it becomes super heavy with moisture and a change is needed. Pains me to write it, sorry.

I love this brand so much! Two years ago I saw

I love this brand so much! Two years ago I saw them advertised on IG and looked into them. I saw they had 4 1/2 and 5 star reviews and got the R1 for my boyfriend. He’s a runner and he said they are by far his favorite pair of running shoes he has ever had; he has and has had tons of them. He then got me a pair of the R1 for my first marathon. I fell in love! I just ran my first 50miler in the same ones and decided to treat myself with the C1 for completing it! Love those as well. 5 stars all around.
Have you ever considered making a kids size? Like size 2 or 3 and up? Something to ponder.
Keep up the amazing work. Grateful to be a proud owner and user of the Mount to Coast running shoes!

Super soft and bouncy, I’m training to run 13

Super soft and bouncy, I’m training to run 13.1 miles everyday for 1 calendar year starting 11/14/26 for a functional cure in Type 1 Diabetes. I chose the C1 for its soft comfortable ride and it has not disappointed

good shoe…. maybe defective though?

its a good shoe. i really like it. for its price its definitely the best in the market considering value. all though…. i run onna dirt track, not a regular gum/rubber floor track, i noticed the outsole started to peel…. kinda disappointed since its only been couple of weeks with a the shoe, running around 6-8 miles on a daily to every other day. other than that if the shoe was more durable or if its just a defective product and can get a replacement that would be amazing.

Been a huge fan of Mount to Coast for awhile

Been a huge fan of Mount to Coast for awhile. I put over 600 miles on my last pair. Decided to switch from the R1 to the C1 and see how it went. Off the rip put 14 miles on them. So comfortable. For a super shoe they are light and responsive. Had a few sub 6:00 sections where it felt as good as any running shoe I’ve had. Excited to run these into the ground and see how far I can push their limits.

Finest Shoe Ever Made: An Engineering Masterpiece

The finest athletic shoe ever engineered for the mass marketplace. The feet are the literal foundation of the human biped on the basis that they balance mass in motion between the ground and the body. There are few material possessions that genuinely contribute to one's well-being but they do exist. Just as a great mattress sets the stage for restorative sleep, a fine athletic shoe sets the stage for an enduring fitness lifestyle.

I am writing this review Friday, June 19, 2026. I've had them for a little over a month and have put 112 miles on them. I wore them out of the store and used my Garmin Fenix 8 Sapphire to start a step counter because I want to test to the 1,000 mile integrity test. They look and feel brand new. I posit that in one year's time this shoe will be adopted by professional and amateur athletes as the undisputed premium versatile gym shoe for those who are serious about their fitness.

Entering the athletic shoe market as a newcomer is like trying to break into the car market as a new manufacturer. Its exceptionally rare and requires some extraordinary element to help consumers overcome the adoption hurdle of an unfamiliar brand and Mount of Coast has done it!

I am extremely judicious and discerning with writing reviews. I reserve my time and thoughts exclusively for the most exceptional places, products, services and personnel. I've never reviewed a shoe or shoe company in my life yet I see it as a public service. I loved the feel of the Nike Vomero Premium (even though I haven't bought a Nike shoe since I was a teen) and thought that would be my new running shoe. Yet I am terrible about replacing worn out shoes. It's a bad habit that arises from frustrations that major manufacturers engineer planned obsolescence into their products.

I am aware that physics is the primary force governing material degradation with objects subjected to heavy kinetic activity with impact and friction. That said, this shoe doesn't appear to have any real competitor that can hold a candle to the quality of its materials or the universality of its fit. It easily accommodates a wide or narrow foot and the drop on this shoe is some sort of "golden ratio." What it lacks in fluffiness it makes up for in stability over time which is the whole ball game.

I cannot believe how much these shoes have bolstered my overall fitness. When I look back at "why is it I have been so active this month?" It's because "the shoe fits" and it's extremely comfortable so I wear them all day and it makes it that much easier to do a double workout day, going longer, going harder etc because I feel supported. These shoes will sell themselves as other's step into them for the first time via word of mouth. Yet I would like to make it known that I was an "early adopter" (highly relative term I know) and just wanted to share my enthusiasm.

From Fast Delivery to No Shipment: My Experience with Mount to Coast

Multiple Promises, No Tracking: A Disappointing Experience

I am writing this review to share my recent experience with Mount to Coast, which has been very different from my past purchases.
Previously, one of the things that impressed me most about this company was the speed of their shipping. My earlier orders were processed quickly, often with near next-day delivery, and the overall experience was reliable and efficient. This is why I felt confident continuing to place orders.
Unfortunately, my most recent order (#55754) has been a completely different experience. The order was significantly delayed, and communication throughout the process has been inconsistent and unclear.
Over several days, I received multiple assurances from customer support, including statements such as:
• “Your order has been forwarded to our warehouse team for immediate processing.”
• “I just manually pulled this order to our warehouse team for shipment.”
• “We have escalated your case to the highest priority.”
Despite these repeated updates, there was no actual confirmation of shipment and no active tracking number provided. The responses remained largely the same—apologies and reassurances—but without tangible progress.
When I raised my concerns, I expressed that what I needed was simple: confirmation that the package was in transit and a valid tracking number. Instead, the communication continued to revolve around internal processing updates rather than real results.
This experience has been disappointing, especially given how efficient and reliable the service used to be. As a customer, consistency and transparency are essential, and in this case, both were lacking.
I am sharing this experience so that other customers are aware and can make informed decisions before placing an order.
