Size Measuring Guide
A perfect fit for your ultra-marathon running shoes is important for comfort and performance. Follow these tips to measure your foot size at home:
General Tips:
- Measure your feet at the end of the day as they're at their largest due to swelling.
- In between sizes? One foot is bigger than the other? Take the larger size.
- It's best to measure every year. Your size could change over time.
What You'll Need:
- A piece of paper larger than your foot,
- A pen or pencil,
- A ruler or measuring tape,
- Socks of the thickness you'll wear with the shoes.
Steps:
- Stand on the paper in the socks you'll wear with the shoes.
- Use the pen or pencil to mark the end of your longest toe and the back of your heel. It's important to measure both feet as their size can vary.
- Match your measurements to our size chart to find the best fit. If you're between sizes, we suggest choosing the larger size for better comfort.

The proof is in the eating.
Adventure and athleticism take many forms. In January 2025, ultrarunner and race director Jamil Coury toed the line for a chance to win a year's supply of free burritos. The challenge: run as many miles as possible outside an Arizona restaurant. What followed was an absurd commitment to athleticism and competition that saw him run more than 730 miles. And his shoe of choice for over 600 of those miles? A single pair of the new Mount to Coast H1s.

Created through a process of advanced supercritical foaming, each pair of CircleCELL™ midsoles is made from up to 20 pounds (9 kilograms) of organic waste and residual biomass. Despite its sustainability credentials, CircleCELL™ delivers energy return on par with PEBA, with almost double PEBA's running lifespan.
Mount to Coast VersaGrip™ is engineered to deliver exceptional traction, confidence and durability across all terrain, so you can run to the trails from your front door without ever missing a step. Worried that a road shoe will be out of its depth on the trails? VersaGrip™ has got your back. This is optimal performance for real-world situations.
The TUNEDFIT™ Dual Lacing System offers separately customizable fit for the forefoot and midfoot. Because we know that in the ultrarunner’s pursuit of distance, feet can swell and change shape, and having a shoe that can adapt to those changes on the fly can be the difference between minor discomfort and injury.
The H1 features a dual-zone upper. Across the top portion, the shoe is engineered with jacquard for adaptive fit and comfort, while the lower part is crafted for exceptional durability with a high-performance woven fabric, reinforced with aramid fibers that are five times stronger than steel.

Just got my H1's. Was really impressed with the fit as soon as I put them on. The lacing system was a cinch. Plenty of room in the toe-box for long efforts. My first few runs were on the road and they felt light and responsive.
I travel a lot and don't know if I'll end up on trails or the road, so was hoping these could do both. Was just in Mexico and had a mixed run on dirt, sand, pavement, and cobbled streets and they were great. Lot's of comments about the depth of the lugs. If they were deeper, I'm imagine it would impact their feel on the road. So seems like a good compromise for a hybrid shoe.
went on a 10 mile hike wearing these shoes out of the box. most comfortable long distance shoe I've ever worn. Love them!
I'm located in SoCal, which means I have the luxury of running from pavement onto largely non-technical (though beautiful) trails. I have tried quite a few road-to-trail shoes.
These are, by far, my favorite. These are as close as I've found to a shoe that can handle moderate trails without compromising on the road. They switch from one to the other with remarkable ease. I've taken these up rutted trails with pretty serious vert, and they're a delight. On the road, I've taken them up to tempo pace without complaint. It's a remarkable balancing act.
The laces do take some fiddling, but I was able to find sufficient lockdown even with narrow low-volume feet. The lugs are not deep enough for heavy mud or snow, but you already knew that.
Obviously a dedicated road shoe will be better for hard training on pavement. Likewise, these are not the shoe I would pick for ridge-running high in Colorado. For truly technical terrain, switch to a real mountain shoe (or grab the T1). If you want a road-to-trail shoe at the other end of the spectrum (i.e., a very competent trail shoe that can handle the occasional road), I'd look to the Scarpa Golden Gate ATR 2.
But if you're like me, and your miles involve a mix of road and light-to-moderate trail, these are the bees knees. Brilliant midsole, just the right amount of tread, and smart lightweight design. I absolutely love them.
perfect for the road to trail miles, responsive enough on roads, grippy enough on the approaching trails, an super lightweight!! i love the foam and it’s a type of shoe u just forget about while running. i heard so many good things about this shoe i told acquaintances who though about getting into running to get THIS shoe before i even bought it. an then i get it and very glad my recommendation was a good one. very happy
Shoe is dialed. Fit is excellent for my foot foam is bouncy, yet supportive. Not wobbly. I prefer firm shoes and didn't know if I would get along with it but I definitely do. Stoked to get this level of performance for this price.
