Size Measuring Guide
A perfect fit for your ultra-marathon running shoes is important for comfort and performance. Follow these tips to measure your foot size at home:
General Tips:
- Measure your feet at the end of the day as they're at their largest due to swelling.
- In between sizes? One foot is bigger than the other? Take the larger size.
- It's best to measure every year. Your size could change over time.
What You'll Need:
- A piece of paper larger than your foot,
- A pen or pencil,
- A ruler or measuring tape,
- Socks of the thickness you'll wear with the shoes.
Steps:
- Stand on the paper in the socks you'll wear with the shoes.
- Use the pen or pencil to mark the end of your longest toe and the back of your heel. It's important to measure both feet as their size can vary.
- Match your measurements to our size chart to find the best fit. If you're between sizes, we suggest choosing the larger size for better comfort.

The proof is in the eating.
Adventure and athleticism take many forms. In January 2025, ultrarunner and race director Jamil Coury toed the line for a chance to win a year's supply of free burritos. The challenge: run as many miles as possible outside an Arizona restaurant. What followed was an absurd commitment to athleticism and competition that saw him run more than 730 miles. And his shoe of choice for over 600 of those miles? A single pair of the new Mount to Coast H1s.

Created through a process of advanced supercritical foaming, each pair of CircleCELL™ midsoles is made from up to 20 pounds (9 kilograms) of organic waste and residual biomass. Despite its sustainability credentials, CircleCELL™ delivers energy return on par with PEBA, with almost double PEBA's running lifespan.

Mount to Coast VersaGrip™ is engineered to deliver exceptional traction, confidence and durability across all terrain, so you can run to the trails from your front door without ever missing a step. Worried that a road shoe will be out of its depth on the trails? VersaGrip™ has got your back. This is optimal performance for real-world situations.

The TUNEDFIT™ Dual Lacing System offers separately customizable fit for the forefoot and midfoot. Because we know that in the ultrarunner’s pursuit of distance, feet can swell and change shape, and having a shoe that can adapt to those changes on the fly can be the difference between minor discomfort and injury.

The H1 features a dual-zone upper. Across the top portion, the shoe is engineered with jacquard for adaptive fit and comfort, while the lower part is crafted for exceptional durability with a high-performance woven fabric, reinforced with aramid fibers that are five times stronger than steel.

Love the fit, feel and look, great for road to trail transition
I took a chance and literally ran a 23km mountain trail race brand new out of the box. And I'm so so happy with them. There's plenty of room in the toe area and to me that is key. They are SUPER comfy. I was worried thei wouldn;t have a lot of traction but they held pretty well. I'm super happy with this purchase. And they look sick.
Where to begin… I am a self proclaimed shoe nerd and have tried the h1 competitors. Let’s just say there are no competitors to this shoe. First run was a solid 16 miles to start a 108 mile week all in one shoe. Don’t just buy a pair, buy two because you won’t want to take them off!
I mean this shoe is just amazing. Trudging along, speed work, long runs, short runs it can literally handle it all. See lots of people complaining about he volume in the forefoot but I guess people don’t understand what this shoe is? It’s giving you the ability with the quick lace system to accommodate for those ultras where your feet will inevitably swell. My only gripe with this shoe is purely cosmetic, the yellow tred of the Joshua tree colorway has slightly leaked onto the foam. Again just cosmetic and doesn’t affect anything and certainly didn’t leak onto the foam enough for me to give this anything other than an 5 star rating.Other than that this shoe is perfect and looks amazing!!
Took them out of the box and ran 20 miles in them today. There is a lot of room in the upper (in general). The toe box is between a normal running shoe and an Altra (which I also wear). I had to slip on the Injini Ultra Run socks to take up some of the volume in the upper, otherwise a spectacular first version. I hope they can remove a little teeny tiny bit of the volume of the midfoot with the next version without losing any toe box room!
The traction took me a couple miles to get used to, felt like I was slipping but I actually was not, I was just plodding instead of a lighter step, as I usually wear deeper lugs. Run was on packed dirt/fine gravel trail. Once I made a very minor adjustment and got used to them, they were great.
I would buy them again.
