After much research and debating I decided to give Mount to Coast at try. Let me just say wow! I ordered the R1R’s (12.5) and have put in 3 runs totaling 25 miles in them. Each shoe weighs a mere 10.6oz. in the 12.5. My favorite feature is the toe box and mid foot lacing. Having those isolated are a game changer. They are getting better after every run. Went out for 17 this morning and have zero complaints. Looking forward to running a marathon in the R1R’s in December and then a multi day event in July. I did personalize mine a bit by replacing the mid foot laces with black lock laces. This gave me a much better feel on the top half and added some color to them.

I am very satisfied with the comfort and spacious toe box of this shoe. The dual lacing system is particularly impressive, allowing me to adjust the fit as needed during extended runs when my feet tend to swell. The shoe performed exceptionally well out of the box and I would highly recommend purchasing another pair.

So far, these are great. I really like the size of the toe box and the fact that I can adjust lacing in a couple of different ways. The midsole has enough bounce for good energy return but is still plenty stable. Happy that I invested in these and will continue to keep them in my rotation.

I bought these not knowing if they were the real deal or just a social media hyped product. I am happy to say these shoes are worth every penny. I had Achilles tendon soreness recently wearing Brooks and Nike, and Hokas have never fit my feet. The R1Rs are amazing and solved my tendon pain so far. I will buy again but have one request - please include a pair of longer laces for people like me who prefer not having the dual lacing system. I could never get the shoe evenly tightened with all the different laces but changed them out for some “normal” laces and the shoes are now perfect.
