These shoes surprised me. When I first received them they felt really light, and I wasn't sure how they would feel out on a run. I was pleasantly surprised that they were supportive and had good cushion for as light as they are. I run in Altra's typically and to go between these was not a big adjustment. I incorporated these into my rotation for my training for my first 100-mile race and used them in rotation during the race. I have approximately 75 miles on this pair, and they are holding up good.

This shoe is something else. After so many years running I found the perfect shoe, simple and clean in look with an amazing performance. A shoe that does not need to be tamed before a race is a shoe you must have in your line up. I took my R1s out of the box they day they arrive run 13 miles and 19 miles two days later and the shoe felt increible great. I am truly amazed with them. The laces system is just great, the weight is incredible light. Amazing.
The Mount to Coast R1s are absolutely amazing! Fit perfectly, I have room for my toes in the toe box, the adjustable tie downs are great, feels like running on clouds so far! I feel as if I have support for my feet and it’s a comfortable feel during my runs. 10/10 recommend!!
These shoes are unreal! Been running consistently for 4 years, multiple marathons, and training for 2 ultras now. I have gone through just about every brand out there, and this shoe is the perfect balance of what all the other brands want to be! Super supportive, but can still crank up the pace easily. Will be wearing these for the rest of my ultra training as well as at both races. Couldn’t recommend more!
