Size Measuring Guide
A perfect fit for your ultra-marathon running shoes is important for comfort and performance. Follow these tips to measure your foot size at home:
General Tips:
- Measure your feet at the end of the day as they're at their largest due to swelling.
- In between sizes? One foot is bigger than the other? Take the larger size.
- It's best to measure every year. Your size could change over time.
What You'll Need:
- A piece of paper larger than your foot,
- A pen or pencil,
- A ruler or measuring tape,
- Socks of the thickness you'll wear with the shoes.
Steps:
- Stand on the paper in the socks you'll wear with the shoes.
- Use the pen or pencil to mark the end of your longest toe and the back of your heel. It's important to measure both feet as their size can vary.
- Match your measurements to our size chart to find the best fit. If you're between sizes, we suggest choosing the larger size for better comfort.

In the relentless pursuit of distance, ultrarunners often encounter swollen feet. With the R1, your toes can relax and enjoy the ride thanks to our wide toe box and broad platform, and the TUNEDFIT™ Dual Lacing System offers customizable fit for the forefoot and midfoot separately.
To create the smoothest possible ride, Mount to Coast looked to the automotive industry to create ZeroSag™, our groundbreaking midsole insert co-developed with BASF. Durable, comfortable and offering impeccable energy return at any temperature, ZeroSag™ guarantees extraordinary cushioning on the longest runs.
LightCELL™, our proprietary midsole base material, starts as a unique hybrid compound before being charged with pure nitrogen to create a supercritical foam. The result is a material that is 50 percent lighter than EVA, while offering 45 percent more energy return.
A Return to Self
Running is more than movement. It’s a return to something deeper. The Agave colorway is inspired by the endurance traditions of those who ran before us: the messengers, the nomads who understood that every step was an offering. One that represents rebirth, resilience, and energy.

After a full season of training in my R1, I can confidently say they are as fantastic now as they were on Day One. Structurally and aesthetically they have held up really well after 300 miles (I use a 5-shoe rotation so these are my pavement long run go-to). I love the roomy toe box, and adaptive lacing system. True to the description, they feel slightly plush but not too squishy. Because the mid and forefoot are wider, they have a nice, solid stability to them when landing. They don't have a lot of "pop" so I wouldn't recommend them for speed sessions, but that's not their designed intent, which is for long cruises. Perhaps my only wish were a bit more arch support, so people with high arches may want a custom insole. I also have the T1 and H1, which are equally good but very different fit and feel.
The Agave R1 is my second pair of R1. These shoes are great for LSR, Tempo, and road ultra. The only complaint I have is that the top laces to be about two inches longer but other than that…perfect. My feet swell quickly here in Saipan and these shoes take care of that problem.
Honestly the title says it all. They feel amazing, responsive. They're now my fo to daily and will be apart of my next ultra in the spring.
I’ve done 2 runs (little over 10 miles) and these shoes are either really fast or I’m just motivated! Love the feel. Didn’t get any blisters or anything like I’ve had breaking in other shoes. Overall I am pleased with the shoes.
No kidding these shoes are the best I have had. Very comfortable and light weight.
