Size Measuring Guide
A perfect fit for your ultra-marathon running shoes is important for comfort and performance. Follow these tips to measure your foot size at home:
General Tips:
- Measure your feet at the end of the day as they're at their largest due to swelling.
- In between sizes? One foot is bigger than the other? Take the larger size.
- It's best to measure every year. Your size could change over time.
What You'll Need:
- A piece of paper larger than your foot,
- A pen or pencil,
- A ruler or measuring tape,
- Socks of the thickness you'll wear with the shoes.
Steps:
- Stand on the paper in the socks you'll wear with the shoes.
- Use the pen or pencil to mark the end of your longest toe and the back of your heel. It's important to measure both feet as their size can vary.
- Match your measurements to our size chart to find the best fit. If you're between sizes, we suggest choosing the larger size for better comfort.

The proof is in the eating.
Adventure and athleticism take many forms. In January 2025, ultrarunner and race director Jamil Coury toed the line for a chance to win a year's supply of free burritos. The challenge: run as many miles as possible outside an Arizona restaurant. What followed was an absurd commitment to athleticism and competition that saw him run more than 730 miles. And his shoe of choice for over 600 of those miles? A single pair of the new Mount to Coast H1s.

Created through a process of advanced supercritical foaming, each pair of CircleCELL™ midsoles is made from up to 20 pounds (9 kilograms) of organic waste and residual biomass. Despite its sustainability credentials, CircleCELL™ delivers energy return on par with PEBA, with almost double PEBA's running lifespan.
Mount to Coast VersaGrip™ is engineered to deliver exceptional traction, confidence and durability across all terrain, so you can run to the trails from your front door without ever missing a step. Worried that a road shoe will be out of its depth on the trails? VersaGrip™ has got your back. This is optimal performance for real-world situations.
The TUNEDFIT™ Dual Lacing System offers separately customizable fit for the forefoot and midfoot. Because we know that in the ultrarunner’s pursuit of distance, feet can swell and change shape, and having a shoe that can adapt to those changes on the fly can be the difference between minor discomfort and injury.
The H1 features a dual-zone upper. Across the top portion, the shoe is engineered with jacquard for adaptive fit and comfort, while the lower part is crafted for exceptional durability with a high-performance woven fabric, reinforced with aramid fibers that are five times stronger than steel.

I already put 20 mi and I really like the support in the back and the arc with enough space in the toe box. Great balance. Not supper responsive but the drop helps to move forward. I am now thinking to get the T1 for my heavy more technical trail running.
I wore the Mount to Coast H1 for Mont Blanc and it performed really well — no blisters at all, which let me rely on it as my only shoe for the rest of our trip through Europe. That included plenty of walking and road running in London (15+ miles a day) and more of the same in Berlin. For a shoe to handle everything from alpine trails to city pavement without any foot issues says a lot about the fit and comfort.
The one caveat: this isn't a super technical shoe. We got lucky with good weather on the trail, but on some of the more technical sections, the tread and grip weren't quite enough. If conditions had been wet or more rugged, I think the shoe would've struggled to keep up.
My other issue is durability — the seams started ripping in a few spots with only a little over 100 miles on them, which is disappointing for a shoe otherwise built well. That's really the only thing holding it back from a full 5 stars.
If I were to do this trip again, I'd actually bring this shoe specifically for city walking and running — the tread turned out to be genuinely helpful on the older, uneven streets and infrastructure you find in parts of Europe. But for the trail portion, I would've liked something more technical, like the T1.
Overall: excellent comfort and versatility for mixed-terrain travel and everyday mileage, just don't expect it to handle serious technical terrain or hold up over the long haul. Hope this helps anyone debating whether to pick these up!
Great fit … did a 2 mile recovery run right out of the box on a treadmill and they have great energy return and fit true to size. Next day did 11 miles on a state park trail and they held up great on the trails. Will be running an ultra in them at the end of September
Not a big fan of them, i just ran a 24 hour ultra marathon in them and had to seap them out after 6 laps. The toe box is too big and its way too tight on the sides of my feet. I would return them if i could.
I’ve taken these for 3 runs so far and I love them. Comfortable and secure fit
First run 9 miles this morning! These are fantastic best way I can describe them. Think of your favorite t shirt but for your feet! Highly recommend great product.
i bought myself a pair and loved them so much i had to buy my wife a pair. my swiss army knife in the shoe department.
The shoes are comfy. I love how well they transition from trail to road. I'm quite pleased with these shoes.
Purchased this (H1) at Oct. 9 2025 and didn’t do rucking with it until past 4 months. The collar padding worn out and had small holes on both shoes after logged around 600km. Others parts of shoes are still good though. Hopefully being improved on the next generation.
I have been running in these for a week now and feel amazing.
It would be the perfect shoe if the toe box were wider.
Overall, I’m ambivalent towards this shoe. There are some aspects I really enjoy and some that have left me pretty disappointed.
Pros:
- It is pretty lightweight
- It has a wide range of use
- I personally enjoy the tuned fit system as I usually need the forefoot very snug in my shoes and it can be hard to do that without getting lace bite. This system was great for avoiding that.
Cons:
- My biggest and most disappointing experience was that I only got 280 miles in this shoe before the outsole began peeling off. With the brand’s advertisements and several online accounts championing its “durability” I really expected to get more life out of these shoes. I exclusively used this shoe on gravel and easy trail so I was not really even putting it through the wringer per se. (For reference, 150-155lbs runner).
- The ride is smooth and efficient, but not bouncy; the brand claims its energy return is as good as PEBA, but I don’t feel that to be true. It has good cushion but not the same “pop”
For the price, I’m not sure if I will buy these shoes again. I thought the value proposition of significantly better durability was worthwhile when I originally purchased them but they didn’t quite hold up to that for me. YMMV.
I have only put about 30 miles on these shoes. 20 of which at a last man standing race. No blisters and the shoes felt great. My only minor complaint is the arch feels a little high for me.
Lives up to its name. Recently I purchased the H1 (along with t1 will leave another review). I’ve have done a couple shakeout runs in this shoes and it has felt great on trails and light gravel/clay paths around the area. This previous Sunday I set out on a solo self supported 100 mile journey from the Appalachian trail to Harper’s ferry down to the coast by the NationsCapitol. The shoes them selves held up great didn’t switch them out over the span of the activity and my feet were fine for minimal prep. I switched to the MTC shoes and over my last couple runs I don’t see myself buying any other shoes. Looking forward to the drop to the new M1 coming on going to snag a pair for utmb grindstone!
Great fit, roomy toe box, well balanced, rigid enough for trails, cushioned enough for comfort, just enough tread blocks for traction, great hybrid, road, gravel and trail shoe. I hope i get the miles out of them,
