I’ve had a month of S1 wear which feels more technical than my new P1s.
Which means the S1s will be my goto on the flatter trail hikes because I’ve found my new daily shoe.The P1.

Great running walking shoes. I didn’t give it a perfect score because for my feet there is too much room in the toe box. A fair score is actually 4,5 stars.

An interesting take on support shoes

I don't like the toe cap. The one on R1 is perfect as it only extends up. On the P1 it extends up and over, and sometimes digs into the big toe, if you have a big toe like mine. That said, everything else about this shoe is sublime. There is definitely a distinct sensation you feel under your forefoot. I am guessing that's the newly engineered tech M2C is talking about. I am a squarely midfoot striker, and the landing feels stable. The foam is not squishy which is what I prefer. It is quite forgiving for bad landings too. The upper is soft and accommodating for my wider toes. you can get a wicked lock down with the laces if you choose. I prefer the one on the R1 better but this is my third fav of all times. That toe cap though.... I just doesn't work for me.

Pronation is essential to our normal gait, but for some runners, uncontrolled overpronation can lead to problems. For decades, lab studies have identified overpronation as a key injury factor and historically this insight led many brands down the route of heavy motion control shoes. Our biomechanics research revealed that excessive forefoot abduction is the most critical risk factor when it comes to running injuries: the forefoot spends more time in contact with the ground, experiences higher peak pressure, and undergoes the greatest range of motion. If we truly wish to manage overpronation, we need to look towards the forefoot.
